Oxfam's International Women's Day: 8th March 2012, Morpeth

International Women's Day is a day to raise awareness and money for all the women and children throughout the world living in poverty, without education and in fear of being abused or dying unnecessarily in childbirth.

A core group of three Morpeth business women have taken the initiative to arrange a day of activities for the girls to help raise some essential money for Oxfam. The event will be held on Thursday, 8th March at La Bodega Tapas Bar, Newgate Street, Morpeth from 9am- 3pm and then from 5pm onwards for dinner.

Anyone is welcome to attend our Girls Get Together, and no ticket is necessary - it is free entry for all! Children are welcome - there will be craft activities for the little ones, as well as face painting. For the ladies, we have a selection of stalls selling some beautiful things, and a pamper area where you will be able to have an Indian Head Massage or a manicure!
From 9am-11:30am Teas & coffees served with warm, Continental pastries & cakes

From 11:30-2.30pm A special tapas lunch at only £3 per item. Also available, freshly made cocktails, and in line with the 'pink' theme - Pink Cava at only £3 a glass!
Bookings aren't necessary, but if you want to come with a few friends, it might be advisable to book.

From 5pm - A specially-created Mediterranean dinner will be available from 5pm. Bookings aren't necessary, but if you want to come with a few friends, it might be adviseable to book. Our resident pianist Jack Hamilton will be entertaining diners from 7pm onwards.

Although we are not charging for admittance, all the hosts and stallholders are giving their time and energy for free, so it would be great if you could support us all and either give a donation, or just buy a raffle ticket on the day. We have had some wonderful local businesses contact us with fabulous raffle prizes!
